Taking time with other people will help them to feel that you care about them, understand them, and that you’re looking at things from their perspective. It’s especially important if you’re a super busy business owner or business executive. Make efforts to take the time to take someone to lunch, or even play a round of golf.  There’s always a hundred things that you could and should be doing that isn’t spending time with people. Sometimes taking time with people feels like a waste of time. I’m telling you right now. It is not a waste of time. Go do it, put it in your schedule. I promise you as you do that, you will see benefits, even if you’re not asking for anything directly. Taking time with people in your network is super important.
